There is nothing I love better than Egyptian art! I love looking at it, teaching it, making art inspired by it! Every year my 4th graders do a portrait of the infamous King Tut and all his gold glory. These are from last year and they are paintings. We started out observing the golden funeral mask of King Tut and drew our own interpretation. From there we went to acrylic and tempera paint. There is something about the gold that makes it kick! This year we are doing metal repousse King Tuts. Those posts are to come. Here are last year's portraits of the boy king. I love how varied they all are!
